| North Platte, Nebraska |
Although not technically part of the Pony Express trail, North Platte is still worth a detour.
William F. "Buffalo Bill" Cody came here in 1878 and built Scout's Rest Ranch, his home for many years. His Wild West show
was "born" here.

At this point, the Pony Express Trail veered south, touching the corner of Colordao,
before
returning to Nebraska and then heading into Wyoming.
